It's the inaugural season for the fused Memorial & Liberty fused Jackson Twp High School. With the solid returners from both program's, and an injection of talent from a feeder system that had been previously serving two schools, the lineup should be a good one.

The familiar names in the middle are seniors Armani McCann and Tucker Pazinko, who have been stalwarts in the Liberty lineup since their freshman seasons. McCann, who placed 8th in Atlantic City last year after winning his first Region title, has 75 career wins and recently committed to Long Island University. Pazinko, who is 12 wins away from 100, is a 3-time State qualifier and was one win away from a medal last season. They anchor a middleweight group that also features a pair of sophomores coming off strong rookie seasons in Landen Chapman, who went 14-4, and 19-match winner Finley Pazinko.

The Jags should be strong in the lower weights with seven wrestlers who started last season, as well as some promising newcomers from the feeder system. Senior William Huchko was a District Champ last season and advanced to the boardwalk after placing 4th at Regions. Sophomore Noah Kovacs seemed to get better with every outing and was wrestling very tough at the end of the season, as he placed 3rd at Districts to cap his 23-win debut year. Ahmed Raheel, Chase Lentze, Chris Trancucci, and Axel Ramos were all double-digit winners a year ago. Add them with some of the incoming youngsters, including JSJWL Champ Anthony Delpome, and this should be a tough, deep group.

Up top, the Jags will be led by a pair of returning District medal winners in junior Akbar Nazurdinov, and senior heavyweight Andrew Chitacappa.
