2024 Record: 19-6
With a strong cast from last year's 19-win already returning, Lacey received an even bigger boost to the 2025 roster with the addition of several newcomers via transfer, and look to have a deep and loaded lineup.
Down low, the big addition is sophomore Killian Coluccio. As a freshman at CBA, Coluccio was the top-ranked 106 in the Shore, placing 3rd in the state, and winning the Region 7 and District 27 Championships. He's joined down low by returning State-qualifiers senior Brendan Schuler, a 3-time District runner-up, and junior Aidan Flynn, the District 25 Champ at 120. There is great depth around that trio comprised of returners and potential new faces to the lineup. Among them are sophomores Luke Miller, the starter at 106 last year, and Zach Carlucci, who got 20 matches in last season at 120 & 126. Senior Jack Koehler was 8-0 with 7 pins last season, and fellow senior Ralphael Garcia add to the experience down low, while underclassmen like freshman Ryan Leonard and sophomores Carlos Garcia and Shamus Dodd add to the depth, giving head coach Justin Bonitatis a ton of lineup flexibility down low.
In the middle, senior Kyle Leonard is a returning starter coming off a 26-win 2024 in which he took 3rd at Districts. He's joined in the middle by seniors Riley Gutierrez and Brody Kountouris, both 3-time District medal winners, who come to Lacey after spending the previous three years at Donovan Catholic. Junior Christian Speck is also back here for Lacey, and senior Tyler French, who won 18 bouts in 2023 and finished 4th at Districts is also back after missing last season.
Up top, the talented young duo of Jake Mott and Joey Davis, both sophomores, each hit the 20-win mark last year, with Mott finishing with 21 victories and a 3rd-place medal at the Districts. Seniors Dylan Trinidad and Mike Seeley also return up top for the Lions manning the 215/Hwt slots. Keep an eye on Seeley who had some very nice wins while seeing limited action behind starter Brody Sager last season. There's also another new addition from Donovan Catholic up top, as junior Michael Colon, who took 3rd at Districts last year, joins the lineup.
With the talent they already had returning, and the new additions, the Lions have a very balanced team with tremendous depth that is going to be a very tough out. They will certainly be in the mix for the C-Division crown against old B-South rival Jackson Liberty, rising Wall, Colts Neck, and Holmdel, and should be able to make a lot of noise in the team and individual postseason.
