Neptune: Heavyweight Jarairya Jean won his second District medal, and 138-pounder Dazior Bethea broke seed to capture his first, as the Scarlet Fliers made it three seasons in a row with multiple medalists. It is their longest such streak since they went on a four year run from 2016-2019.

2025 Neptune Scarlet Fliers

Numbers are up in the room which is a good sign for the Scarlet Fliers as they look to build themselves up with competition in the room, and getting some of the newcomers experience in the varsity lineup.

There's a lot of experience returning in the middle of the lineup, led by two-time District medal winner, senior Thomas Drea. Drea, who was the runner-up at 132 in District 22 last season, and a 3rd-place finisher in D23 in 2023, is a 4-year starter who provides a strong veteran presence in the middle part of the lineup. He's joined by fellow senior Cesar Santome, who has put up back-to-back double digit win seasons. Dazior Bethea and Victor Pena are also returning senior starters, giving head coach Tim Jobes a good veteran core in the middle.

The upperweights will be anchored by junior Jarairya Jean. Jean led the Fliers in wins last season with 20, and placed 3rd at the Districts.

There is optimism in the room that the increased numbers in the room will lead to bigger things down the road for the program. There is a strong upperclassmen group here that will be looking to help the youngsters as they gain valuable experience, while looking for big runs for themselves individually. The Fliers will be looking to be competitive with all of the teams on their schedule, as they battle in the H-Division with similar programs Asbury Park, Keyport, Pinelands, New Egypt, Lakewood, and Monmouth Regional.
