Wall's 17 dual wins last season were their most since they won in 18 in 2016. 10 of their 14 starters from last year's team are back, and there is some strong young talent looking to break into the lineup, as the Knights look to continue their rise up the ranks in the Shore. A trio of upperclassmen, junior Bryson Jarosz, and seniors Omar Carrillo-Solano and Ben Waitzel lead the lowerweights. Both Carrillo-Solano and Waitzel are two-time District medalists, with Carrillo-Solano winning the D24 title at 113 last season. Jarosz earned his first medal last season, placing 3rd. The strength of the lineup may be the middle where the Knights look to have talented group with some depth to it. Sophomores Mason DiStefano and Mike Boulard are coming off outstanding rookie seasons. DiStefano won 25 bouts and won a District title. Boulard, who led the team in wins with 31, also won a District title and was a win away from Atlantic City after finishing 5th at Regions. Junior Parker Quinn, a State qualifier in 2024, put up a near identical season to Boulard, winning 30 matches and placing 5th at Regions after winning a District title. Russell Sage, a 3rd-place finisher at Districts last season, provides some leadership to the group, and freshman Alexis Carrillo-Solano, an Intermediate States medal winner last year, will looking to step into the lineup making this a very strong group of middles for Wall. Up top, 20 match winners junior Jeremy Marsella, a District runner-up in 2024, and senior Eric Clauburg, who finished 3rd at Districts last season, lead the charge. Juniors James Interrante and Christopher Solano have both been in the lineup since their freshman years, Shane Pinto will help provide some senior leadership, and underclassmen like Jesse Roth and Alan Bagagem will be looking to contribute as well. The Knights came on strong at the end of the season, upsetting Ocean Twp to advance to advance to their first Sectional final since 2020. With a good portion of that team back, and a talented group of newcomers stepping in, the Knights look like a Top 10 11 this season as they step up into the B-Division.
