Seven seniors, including State qualifiers Jack Thompson and Nate Fletcher, were lost to graduation, and with a just a handful of seniors in the room, this will be a pretty young Pt Boro squad in 2024.

Down low, the Panthers have one of the Shore Conference's best 1-2 lowerweight punch in juniors Joey DeAngelo and Frankie Burgio. The pair have had remarkably similar careers. Both enter the season with 62 career wins, each has won a District Title, and both are 2-time State Tournament Qualifiers. DeAngelo and Burgion, along with senior Jared Drewes, who is entering his fourth season in the starting lineup, give the Panthers a strong veteran core to break some new faces into the lineup down low. Among the younger wrestlers competing for lineup spots down here are a trio of sophomores in Mikey DeAngelo, West Matta, and Jack Berger. The latter two will be looking to build off the experience they gained in the varsity lineup last season.

In the middle, junior Garrett Weiland is the lone returning starter in what will be an otherwise young group looking to crack into the lineup.

Senior Ryan Acquisto is the anchor up top. A 2-time District medalist, and a 4th place finisher in the 2023 Shore Conference Tournament, Acquisto enters the year with 62 career victories. Junior Tanner Hynes is another returning starter in the uppers for Boro. He will be looking to take it a step up after an 11 win sophomore season in which he split time wrestling at 190 and 215. Senior Nick Vitale projects to be at 190 after wrestling 11 of his 12 matches at heavyweight last season.

Pt Boro reclaimed the B-South championship last season, their 30th divisional title in all, after a two year run by Lacey. Their opening dual is against divisional opponent Manchester on December 20th, but after that, they'll have a couple weeks to prepare for one of the divisional contenders in Donovan Catholic. With a lot of young, new faces the Panthers will look to use that time to prep them as best they can for a run to succesfully defend that title.
