2025 Raritan Rockets

Head Coach: Ethan Wolf (1st Season)
Assistants: Artie Lynch (Girls) / Aiden Dennehy / Cody Mooney
Volunteers: Eric Drake / Jalen Ramos / Ashanti Maurice / Justin Acevedo

Ten starters return for new head coach Ethan Wolf who takes over for Raritan after a tremendous 23-year run by Rob Nucci, who has is now the head coach for the middle school team.

Led by Alex Delaurier in the middle, five senior starters return. Delaurier, who is 22 wins away from 100 for his career, was a win away from reaching the podium in Atlantic City last year. A 2-time District Champion, it was the 2nd consecutive trip to the State Tournament for Delaurier, who will be gunning for a spot on the Boardwalk Hall podium in his final season. Fellow senior Matt Askander, 4th at Districts, and juniors Giacobbe Mahon and Logan Dennehy give Raritan upperclassmen experience in the 144-165 range.

There's a strong upperclassmen presence in the top of the lineup as well, with returning starters Jon Gazerwitz, a 2-time District medalist, and Nate Perriera, both seniors, joined by junior Ryan Settle, who was a District runner-up last year. Another senior, Riyan Bhutto, who placed 4th at Districts his sophomore year, returns to the lineup after missing last season with an injury.

There is a lot of potential down low. Senior Nick Sheldrick is a solid veteran presence. A 27-bout winner last year, Sheldrick is a 2-time District runner-up, and placed 6th at Regions in 2023. Junior Owen Brackett and sophomore Charlie Geoghan both showed a lot of ability in their first season in the starting lineup in 2024. Both wrestlers finished 4th at the Districts and will be looking for breakout years with a full season of varsity action under their belts. Likewise, sophomore Justin Card and junior Jaiden Torres will be looking to build off the varsity action they saw last year.

This is always a hard working team that brings a lot of tenacity to the mat. It's just in the DNA up there. With a lot of experience returning, this is a team that could get off to a fast start and continue to rise as the season progresses.
