Where They Open
12/18: at Gateway Tournament
Red Bank returns 9 wrestlers with varsity experience from last season's team, and have a large number of new faces looking for a chance to crack the lineup.
The Bucs have some good experience returning in the lower half of the lineup, but the big name returning is obviously Phil Stolfa. The senior enters his final season with 70 career win, 33 short of breaking the program's all-time record. A 3-time Top 6 finisher at Regions, Stolfa qualified for States last year with a 4th-place finish. He'll be looking for a trip to AC come this march, with a focus on ending his career with a spot on the podium.
Sophomore Dom Sena is looking to build off a nice debut season for the Bucs, winning 8 bouts in the shortened season. Also back in the lower half of the lineup are some experienced upperclassmen in seniors Gabe McIvern Jimenez and Michael Meehan, and junior Ansel Bryan. Keep an eye on freshman Kevin Ruland, who had a lot of success at the youth level.
They upper half of the lineup will be a bit more inexperienced, with just two returning starters, juniors Gavin Lisko and Patrick Cody. There will be a swarm of new faces battling in the room for an opportunity to contribute in the lineup.
There will several new faces in the lineup, but the Bucs have some decent experience in which to build around them. Overall though, it's a pretty young squad that will be looking to improve with each outing this season.
