Shore Conference Wrestling

Updated - 1/16/2022

1. Southern Regional Rams  (10-0)
Pounded South Plainfield on Saturday, as the Rams continue to roll, and are making a strong claim as the top public school in the state. They have again opted out of the SCT, and will be going out of conference this week with matches against Monroe, Lower Cape May, and a showdown with Phillipsburg on Saturday.

2. St John Vianney Lancers  (9-2)
They have tried to hold it together without their full lineup, and they showed just what they're capable of now that they have it by winning the Patriot Duals against a trio of state-ranked teams in #5 Kingsway, #13 North Hunterdon, and #20 Livingston. They received the #5 seed in the Shore Conference Tournament, and may have drawn the team that matches up the best with them in the quarters in the 4th-seeded Brick Memorial.

3. CBA Colts  (9-2)
We have the triangle with CBA, Howell, and Midd South. Throw the triangle out, and I give the Colts the nod with the best win among the three as they hold a 43-23 win over Brick Memorial

4. Middletown South Eagles  (8-3)
The Eagles 31-27 win over Howell puts them in line for a share of A-North with the Colts and Rebels; their first piece of the divisional pie since 1987.

5. Howell Rebels  (13-3)
Howell went 3-3 last week, with the loss to Midd South, and going 3-2 at the tough Jack Welch Duals.

6. Brick Memorial Mustangs  (12-2)
Pretty quiet week for the Stangs with wins over Rancocas Valley, Northern Burlington, and TR South. As mentioned, they match up very well with SJV, and the two could/should? meet up on Thursday night.

7. Raritan Rockets  (13-4)
The Rockets kept things clean in A-Central with a win over Rumson, went 2-1 at the Pine Barrens Duals, and dropped a tough one to Del Val in an instant classic.

8. Jackson Memorial Jags  (11-4)
Jags lost to #1 Southern, and beat Wall last week. Very interesting matchup with #10 Pt Boro is next on tap in the SCT Round of 16.

9. Lacey Lions  (14-3)
Lions cleared the major hurdle to their 2nd straight B-South Title with a win over Pt Boro last week. They added wins over Colts Neck, Manchester, and a walk-off against Rumson on Saturday. Coincidentally, they draw the Bulldogs in the Round of 16 on Thursday night for a rematch.

10. Pt Boro Panthers  (11-1)
The Panthers bounced back from their loss to Lacey, with wins over Manchester, and crosstown rival Pt Beach. As mentioned, they have an interesting matchup with the Jags in the SCT Round of 16.

11. Red Bank Catholic Caseys  (10-2)
Caseys went 2-1 last week with a loss to the full-lineup Lancers, and wins over Holy Cross and Central. They get the Lancers again (boo, rematches!) in the Round of 16.
