With just a few seniors projected in the lineup, this is going to be a very young Southern squad. However, the young guys coming into the lineup do so with some very impressive resumes and nothing is changing down in Manahawkin as the Rams will be looking to do the usual Rams things.

Down low, the Rams return a pair of hammers in Senior Anthony Mason and sophomore Cade Collins. Mason is a 3-time District Champ, a 2-time Region Champ, and placed 2nd in Atlantic City in 2024, and 4th in 2025. Mason enters the season with 110 wins, which puts him 30 behind the all-time wins leader at Southern, Wyatt Stout. Collins had a standout first season for the Rams, leading the team with 40 wins and placing 7th at States. They lead a group of underclassmen that includes sophomores Henry Zimmerman and Tyler Morin, who got some varsity action last season and will be looking to step up into the lineup to assume larger roles this season. Among the freshmen looking to make an impact are Jonas Lusker and Dion Mesanko, who were both Intermediate State Champs, and Nick Banos, who took 3rd at Intermediate States.

Last season, senior Attila Vigilante won a District title (his 2nd), and a Region title to advance to Atlantic City where he was two wins shy of a spot on the podium. He leads the charge in the middleweights that has some more members of the talented freshman class, including Anthony Molinaro and Colton Gearl, who were both multiple time Intermediate State place winners.

Juniors Levi Foote and Nick Daddona return for Southern in the upper weights. Foote won 37 bouts in 2025, and was a District and Region Champion. He was just one win shy of a medal at Boardwalk Hall. Daddona won 16 matches and was a District runner-up. They're joined by sophomore Vincent Esposito, who went 17-2 as a freshman and picked up some very big wins. He's a candidate for a huge breakout year with the expanded role in 2026.

This is as young a Rams' team as they've had in a while, but it is loaded with young talent. Make no mistakes about it, despite their youth, the Rams figure to once again be in the hunt for the A-Division title, the Sectional and Group titles, as well as in the battle for the top public in New Jersey.
