Freehold Boro: 39 Champions - Last (2024) / 0 Team Titles
| Freehold has sent three wrestlers to the podium for eight consecutive seasons. They have only two wrestlers seeded in the top 3, so someone will need to break seed to keep that streak alive. Onesimo Nieto, a runner-up last season, is the top seed at heavyweight. He'll be aiming to start a new streak of champions for the Colonials after they had their 7 season streak snapped last year. Josh Gomez (144) is the only other Colonial seeded "in the money" as he was seeded 3rd. Gomez placed 4th in last year's tournament. |
Freehold Twp: 52 Champions - Last (2024) / 0 Team Titles
| The Patriots have had multiple medal winners at the Districts for 9 consecutive seasons. Freehold Twp is one of three teams in this District without a returning medal winner. Three Patriots received #3 seeds: Noah Bracho (165), Erik Brooks (190), and Jason Turowski (215). Brooks and Turowski were tied for the team lead in wins during the regular season with 20, along with Peyton Baugher, who is seeded 6th in a deep 132 weight class. |
Lakewood: 49 Champions - Last (2018) / 2 Team Titles (1968)
| Lakewood has had a medal winner at Districts for 7 consecutive seasons. The Piners are one of three teams in the District without a returning medal winner. Jose Vidal, who leads the team in wins, is the highest seeded Piner. He is #3 at 175. Pablo Valencia, who is 2nd on the team in wins, is seeded 4th at 106. |
Long Branch: 152 Champions - Streak (1 Season) / 14 Team Titles (2020)
| Long Branch's 152 champions is 6th most in the Shore Conference, 3rd most in Monmouth County The Green Wave's 14 team titles is 6th most in the Shore Conference, 3rd most in Monmouth County Tornick Kajaia (190) and Tristen Hepburn (138) earned top seeds for LB. Kajaia, who enters the weekend with 127 career wins, is 5th on Long Branch's all-time wins list. In 4th, is his head coach Billy George who had 137. Kajaia is a 3-time State qualifier and will be going for his 2nd District Title. Ryan Jeffery (106) and Jordan Vieira (120), who placed 5th at Regions last season, were each seeded 3rd. |
Manalapan: 116 Champions - Last (2024) / 10 Team Titles (2023)
| Manalapan's 116 champions is 12th most in the Shore Conference, 8th most in Monmouth County. The Braves had a streak of 12 seasons with a District Champ snapped last season. Manalapan has had 5 or more medalists for 8 straight seasons. The Braves' lone top seed went to Justin Repetti at 126, who was a 3rd-place finisher last season. Four Braves received #2 seeds: Michael Farrell (113), Gage Grant (132), Chase Zardavets (144), and Donny Tibbitt (190) Grant was a runner-up last year and then went on to place 4th at Regions to punch a ticket to Atlantic City. Grant led the team in wins during the regular season with 30, which puts him at 112 for his career, 5th all-time at Manalapan. Tibbitt is going for his 3rd medal. He was 2nd in 2024, and 3rd last season. |
Monmouth Regional: 13 champions - Last (2008) / 0 Team Titles
| Monmouth is one of three teams in this District without a returning medal winner. The Falcons have had at least one medal winner for 8 consecutive seasons. With not a single seed in the top 4, Monmouth will need someone to break seed to keep their streak alive. The 215-Hwt combo of Amari Roach and Ryan Fleury, both sophomores, have the ability to do just that. Both are 20+ bout winners, and both have had some quality wins this season. Jack Puleio, seeded 5th at 132, is also more than capable of stringing a couple of wins together to move on to Regions. He was a 4th place finisher last season. |
New Egypt: 12 Champions - Last (2013) / 0 Team Titles
| Michael Rousseau is the Warriors' highest seed, getting the #3 at 150. Wyatt Burgess, a runner-up last season, is seeded 4th at 138, and might be to Warriors' best chance at a championship since Brad Schwarze in 2013 in what could be a fairly wide open bracket. Two other Warriors received 4-seeds: Elmer Morfin (165) and Sebastian Quintero (215). |
Pt Boro: 114 Champions - Streak (28 Seasons) / 6 Team Titles (2025)
| The Panthers streak of 28 seasons with a champ is tied with Southern for the 2nd longest active streak in the Shore. Head coach Pat Brady has coached 38 District Champions. Boro's 3 #1 seeds is 2nd to Seton Hall Prep, who has 5. Jake Clayton (#1 at 165) is looking to become Boro's 8th 3-time champion. They've never had a 4-timer. Clayton, a junior, is already tied for 7th on the program's all-time wins list. He can move into a tie for 4th with a title run this weekend. Sophomore Jaxin Corino (120) and freshman Greg Parani (106) are the Panthers' other top seeds. Corino will be gunning for his 2nd title. Five Panthers received #2 seeds: Luke Renna (150), Jack Watson (157), Talan Ronckovitz (175), Jack Scalabrini (215), and Nico Cangiano (Hwt). Scalabrini and Renna were both runners-up last year, while another runner-up, West Matta, is seeded 3rd at 126. Returning champion Michael DeAngelo, who has dealt with injuries this season, is seeded 5th at 113. |
| The team title race looks like it should come down to Pt Boro and state-ranked Seton Hall Prep. The Pirates have to be considered the favorites, but with a couple upsets along the way, Boro could be right there with them. | ||||||||||
