| SOME STUFF | |||
|
106: #1 Bagocius (Camden Cath) decisioned #2 Rose (Immaculata), 7-4, in the Non-Public Groups. Rose was a NJWB3 last season. Rose decisioned #4 Fenuto (West Deptford) 3-1 in the D28 final. 113: #1 Coluccio (Lacey) is an enormous favorite here. It's likely that he's not getting tested until AC. He teched #2 Dubuque (Delran) last month, majored #3 Hetzel (Washington Twp), and beat #4 Feliciano (TR East) twice, once by major, and once 13-6. #2 Dubuque defeated #3 Hetzel, 3-2, in the D27 final. 120: Potential is here for this to be a very competitive weight. #1 McConaghy (West Deptford) decisioned #2 Boyle (Lenape), 1-0, in the D28 final. #3 Lopez (Immaculata) was teched by Boyle in the D28 semis, but he has wrestled a tough schedule this year and has some big wins, including one that will stand out to Shore Conference fans, a 13-2 major over CBA's Sonny DiMatteo. #8 Suydam (Moorestown) has put up A LOT of points in his matches this season. He could perhaps be a spoiler. 126: #1 Flynn (Lacey) decisioned #2 Hoopes (Washington Twp) 1-0 at the Escape The Rock Tournament. #3 Lamb (Haddonfield) majored #4 Joyce (Camden Cath) in the D25 final. #4 Joyce dec. #5 Goldstein (Immaculata) 2-0 at Groups. 132: #1 Spaulding (Camden Cath) is a returning State Champion. His only loss a 2-1 UTB decision in the Escape The Rock semis. #2 DeLorenzo (TR East) was 4th at 120 at States last year. #3 Hagerty (Washington Twp) was 4th at 126. The two met in the 5th place match at the the Beast of the East this season, with DeLorenzo winning 7-1. A potential rematch could be the best semi of the weekend. 138: Could be a wide open weight. #1 Segal (Shawnee) pinned #2 Riddell (Immaculata) in the D28 final, but was trailing in the 3rd period when he did so. 150: The top 3 seeds all placed at 150 in AC last year: #1 Weller (Delran) 3rd, #2 Craft (Camden Cath) 4th, & #3 Washleski (Immaculata) 7th, making this an awfully top 3 to crack. 157: 2-time State medal winner #1 Jones (Camden Cath) is a top contender for a State title next week. He's a strong favorite here. #2 Thompson (Immaculata) majored #3 Angermeier (Lenape) in the D28 final. Angermeier defeated #4 Hoffman (Delran), 7-4, in the Burlington County Tournament. 190: #1 Simpson (Camden Cath) will be the strong favorite here. He was 4th in the State last season. 215: #1 Jackson (Paul VI) has been a pinning machine since he really broke on the scene last season. With the exception of his bouts in the Beast of the East and the Escape The Rock tournament, Jackson has pinned all but one of his opponents in the first period this season. The one non-pin was a 9-0 major over #2 Wheeler (Lenape). He's an enormous favorite here. |

He has a win over potential semifinal opponent #3 Colton Hagerty (Washington Twp), 7-1, in the 5th place match at the Beast of the East. Jayce Cappello qualified for States as a freshman last season after placing 3rd in the Region. He's facing the winner of #6 Mason Musciano (Collingswood) vs #11 Shane Palena (Delran) in the quarters. Cappello teched Musciano back in early January. Freshman Julius Feliciano will open up against #13 Xyron Andrejko (TR North) in the pre-quarters. If he wins that one, it sets up a match another very talented freshman in #5 Christopher Amato (Camden Catholic) Freshman D26 champ Tristan Lenaghan awaits in the quarterfinal for the winner of #2 Owen Boyle (Lenape) and #15 Zachary Slimm (Pennsauken). Boyle is a 4-time Region qualifier and has lost in the Blood Round in each of the last two seasons. |
