2025 Brick Twp Dragons

2024 Record: 11-11

Long time assistant coach Joe Lindenbaum takes the reins as the Dragons' head coach, replacing Matt Opacity, who stepped down after 21 seasons in which he amassed 269 wins and guided Brick to three Sectional Titles. Lindenbaum takes over a team that has a trio of 20+ match winners returning, including a pair of District medalists.

The Dragons have a pretty nice stretch with Anthony Carro, Lucas D'Elia, and Ricky Gordillo projected to be at 120-132. D'Elia led the team in wins last season as a freshman, recording 26 victories, and placed 3rd at Districts at 113. Gordillo, a senior, was one of the most improved wrestlers in the Shore Conference last season, going from 1-11 in 2023 as a sophomore, to 23-8 and finishing 3rd at Districts in 2024. Carro is coming off a nice debut season that saw him win 18 bouts down at 106 last season.

That trio provides a nice block for the Dragons to break in some new starters around in the lower half of the lineup with sophomores Alex Kebeck and Zakary Perez, and freshmen Maddox McCarron and Robert Pryszmont among those looking to crack the lineup. The Dragons also have senior Elizabeth Avila down low who can contribute. Avila was a 4th place finisher in last year's Girls Region Tournament.

Brick has a ton of experience back from 144-up, led by junior Aidan Leonard, a 20-match winner in 2024, and senior Joe Leskowski, a District runner-up in 2023. Both wrestlers placed 4th at the Districts last year.

After many years of dealing with the perennial hammers in A-South, the Dragons are now a part of the F-Division in the new division format, and will take aim at claiming their first divisional title since 2012 in a field that includes TR South, Manalapan, Keansburg, & Freehold Boro.
