Shore Conference Wrestling

Published: 4/4/21

#1 Southern Regional Rams8-2

The Rams beat rival Jackson Memorial, 51-18, to clinch a share of their first A-South Championship since 2018. They can win the title outright with a win over Brick Twp on Friday.

#2 Brick Memorial Mustangs7-1

The Stangs defeated TR North on Thursday. They are going to compete in the Shore Conference Pod with Wall, Manalapan, & Middletown North, but it is likely they will do so without some of their hammers as they prepare for the postseason.

#3 CBA Colts7-2

The Colts will make A-North official if they can handle their business against Middletown North on Monday, which is expected to end the dual season for the Colts as they prep for the postseason.

#4 Howell Rebels8-1

Howell defeated Middletown North, 53-21, on Saturday. Head coach John Gagliano currently sits at 499 career coaching victories. As of now, the Rebels have nothing remaining on their schedule as they may just begin to prep for the postseason.

#5 Ocean Township Spartans8-0

The A-Central Champion Spartans wrapped up their regular season with a win against New Brunswick, and now prepare for the postseason.

#6 Middletown South Eagles5-2

South dropped a 32-22 decision to CBA on Thursday. They will face #8 Colts Neck in the SC Pod, with the winner facing Jackson Memorial.

#7 Rumson Bulldogs2-3

Rumson's regular season has concluded with the program shutting down until the individual postseason.

#8 Colts Neck Cougars9-0

The Cougars captured their first ever outright divisional championship with a win over Wall on Thursday. They face #6 Middletown South in the SC Pod, next.

#9 Lacey Lions6-1

With their match against Barnegat likely not to be made up, the Lions are the B-South Champions. It is their first divisional title since 1999. Next up is a Shore Conference Pod match against Marlboro.

#10 Matawan Huskies7-1

Matawan had wins over then #10 Wall, and Raritan on Friday and Saturday. Their lone loss came in a tight 38-33 decision to Colts Neck. They will compete in the Shore Conference Pod with their first opponent set to be TR East.

#11 Raritan Rockets6-3

The ever revolving door of the 11-spot continues. Could have gone several different ways with this one, but I'll give the latest nod to the Rockets, who have wins over two previously ranked teams in St John Vianney and TR East.
