While some solid talent was lost to graduation, including State qualifier Josiah Sweeney, nine regulars from last year's lineup return and are spread throughout the lineup, to give the Colonials a good base to break some new starters in the lineup.

Senior Onesimo Nieto is the big name up top for Freehold. A 23-match winner as a sophomore, Nieto won 22 matches last season on his way to placing 2nd at the Districts. Nieto looks to pair up with fellow senior Emmanuel Ramirez, who won 14 matches in his first season in the lineup last year, to give the Colonials a formidable 1-2 punch at 215/Hwt. Juniors Adrian Lopez-Roldan, a 3rd-year starter who finished 4th at Districts in 2025, and Carson Fusco also return and have the ability to give Freehold a very good crop of upperweights.

Down low, David Baez had a very strong freshman season, going 17-3 while getting time in behind Sweeney at 106. He could be primed for a real breakout year. Fellow sophomore Chase Knowles won 12 bouts in his debut season, while senior Jose Torres has been a regular in the lineup since his sophomore year, giving the Colonials some veteran leadership down low.

In the middle, senior Joshua Gomez put up 19 wins in 2025 and finished 4th at the Districts in his first year as a starter, while sophomore Henry Lugo won 13 matches in his rookie season, giving Freehold a pair of starters to break some newcomers around in the middleweights.

The coaches are excited about this group as it is a hard working bunch and very coachable. There's some nice balance here and if the newcomers can step up, this is a lineup that should be able to compete in the F-Division chase.
